On 1 September 2018 the Liquor Regulation 2018 (2018 Regulation) replaced the Liquor Regulation of 2008. Like the 2008 Regulation, the 2018 Regulation prescribes matters necessary for the effective operation of the Liquor Act 2007 (the Act) and introduces key changes to support responsible industry development while continuing to prioritise harm minimisation.

We are pleased to advise of the NSW Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority’s decision to grant a Packaged Liquor Licence (PLL) to Brandlink, Erskine Park. NSW Registered Clubs and full Hotel Licences – Gaming and the Local Impact Assessment Scheme
Clubs and hotels are subject to an individual threshold on how many gaming machines they can lawfully operate pursuant to either gaming machine entitlements (GMEs) or, in the case of a hotel, GMEs and/or poker machine permits (PMPs). This is commonly referred to as their Gaming Machine Threshold (GMT)against which they can buy or lease GMEs or PMPs from other venues.

Back Schwartz Vaughan is pleased to announce the Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority’s decision to grant a Primary Service Authorisation to one of Sydney’s leading dining venues, the Waterfront Grill in Darling Harbour. Having only previously held a Restaurant Licence, this Primary Service Authorisation, obtained by Back Schwartz Vaughan on behalf of Waterfront Grill, will now permit Waterfront Grill to provide its customers with alcoholic refreshments without the previous requirement of these refreshments being served ancillary to a meal.

The NSW Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority has officially granted Yayoi, located on Level 3 of Market City in the heart of Sydney’s Chinatown, a Restaurant Licence. Back Schwartz Vaughan was pleased to assist Yayoi in opening their fourth restaurant in Sydney first with an initial Interim Restaurant Authorisation, and now a fully-fledged Restaurant Licence.
